Miami Heat forward Haywood Highsmith told the media that he’s built for moments on the ultimate stage after Thursday’s 104-93 Game 1 NBA Finals road loss vs. the Denver Nuggets (18 points/2 rebounds/1 block/2 steals/7-10 FG/2-4 3-PT/2-2 FT).

Will Guillory: “Haywood, for you, just going from your minutes up and down during the regular season to here at the point now, you’re probably going to play a prominent role moving forward. Just what’s that like for you being on this stage and knowing that you’re going to be playing an important role?”

Highsmith: “Yeah, I mean, this is the ultimate stage, the Finals. I’ve been prepared for it. I’ve been working at this my whole life. I’m built for this. You know, the ups and downs through the season I’ve been through and the ups and downs I’ve been through in my career. So I’m ready to go and I’m built for this, like I said.”
